About

Lisa Worksman travels extensively around the world, working and making art, and that experience illuminates her spiritual values and eclectic art perspective.

Having been brought up and educated in Mississippi, her love of Southern regional stories, music and folk art as cultural expression is often mixed with iconography from around the globe and reconstructed in her work. She is first and foremost a painter, whose rich visual language is her version of traditional storytelling, and a visceral entry into her inner exploration of the nature of transformation.

“The Wheel Series”, is an ongoing sculptural body of work composed of freestanding, spinning wheels of fortune representing chance and choice, and the relationship between stability and flight, Lisa has shown at galleries and venues in Northern and Southern California, and most of her work has moved into private collections. She currently lives and works at the Brewery in Los Angeles.
